Small Soyuz rocket lofts experimental imaging satellite – Satellite News Digest

Rocket: Soyuz 2-1v; Payload: Kosmos 2525 (EMKA, "Experimental Small Satellite"?); Date: 29 March 2018, 1738 UTC; Launch site: Plesetsk, Russia. Confirmation of successful orbital insertion came 16 minutes after the evening lift-off. U.S. tracking data showed the satellite in a rather low Sun Synchronous Orbit of 316 km x 318 km x 96.64°.

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope currently is undergoing final integration and test phases that will require more time to ensure a successful mission. After an independent assessment of remaining tasks for the highly complex space observatory, Webb’s previously revised 2019 launch window now is targeted for approximately May 2020.

Spacecom orders Amos 8 from SSL – Satellite News Digest

Spacecom, operator of the Amos satellite fleet, announced it has chosen SSL to build its Amos-8 advanced communications satellite. The satellite will deliver broadcast, broadband and data services from Spacecom’s 4°degrees West ‘hot spot’ to Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
