[Via Satellite 09-02-2014] Onlime has signed for additional transponder capacity from Measat on Africasat 1a. The new capacity will be used to support growth in African markets.

Launched in 2013, Africasat 1a is a hybrid C- and Ku-band communications satellite providing coverage over Azerbaijan, Central Asia, Europe and Africa. Orbital Sciences built the satellite under contract from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The ministry has an agreement with Measat, who owns the orbital slot at 46 degrees east.

Onlime was created earlier this year as a result of the merger between CET Teleport and Limeline Group. The company provides communications to enterprise, government, military and other customers around the world.
