[Via Satellite 08-21-2014] ViaSat has begun initial offerings of its “virtually unlimited” satellite broadband service in Alaska, Hawaii and Florida. Customers can access up to 150 GBs of data per month without resulting in strict data allowances using the ViaSat 1 High Throughput Satellite (HTS).  Additional rollouts are planned across the Eastern Seaboard, the Gulf Coast, and select counties in California, Arizona and Minnesota.

“The Freedom plan shows our dedication to continually improving the customer experience and responding to their desire for more data,” said Lisa Scalpone, vice president of broadband, ViaSat. “With Exede Internet, we’ve shown that we can deliver high speeds at reasonable cost to virtually anyone in the U.S. Now we’re excited to demonstrate that satellite Internet can deliver data volumes that are competitive with wireline services.”
