[Via Satellite 09-18-2014] Virgin Atlantic has partnered with Gogo to install the new 2Ku In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) service on the airline’s existing fleet. The companies have agreed on principle terms and are working together to finalize a definitive agreement.

Virgin Atlantic is Gogo’s first European airline customer. In August the company signed its first 2Ku customer, Aeromexico. Gogo plans to provide peak speeds of 70 Mbps at the launch of 2Ku, eventually reaching 100 Mbps as more satellites become available.

“Virgin Atlantic’s relationship with Delta Air Lines will also allow us to build a seamless experience for passengers who fly both airlines,” added Michael Small, president and CEO of Gogo.
