The Agriculture Ministry and SupremeSAT have joined to introduce space technology into agriculture practices. The Ministry signed an agreement with SupremeSAT to introduce ExactFarming” in Sri Lanka. This is a first for SAARC region. “ExactFarming” is a platform jointly developed by SupremeSAT and USA’s ExactFarming Inc. The platform will offer high quality, most frequent, processes and satellite imagery to the agrarian community of Sri Lanka through the Agriculture Ministry. The service is provided free for the next 20 years. This very innovative step taken by the Ministry to introduce ‘Precision Farming Techniques” in Sri Lanka.
