[Via Satellite 10-06-2014] Exelis and Airbus Defence and Space have partnered to streamline access to and use of geospatial imagery products from both companies. Beginning today, customers who purchase Exelis’ ENVI or ENVI SARScape by the end of the year will have access to Airbus Defence and Space geospatial imagery. Existing customers will also have access through a downloadable plugin from Exelis.

Users of the ENVI software will not need to leave the program to find data and preview images. According to Exelis, this will enable the discovering of new imagery in conjunction with existing imagery or Geographic Information System (GIS) layers.

“This agreement between Airbus Defence and Space and Exelis gives ENVI users easy access to a full range of fresh optical and radar imagery. This includes 1.5m Spot 6 and Spot 7, and 50cm Pléiades data, giving users more accurate results for their projects and to help them make better decisions,” said Bernhard Brenner, head of the geo-intelligence program line at Airbus Defence and Space.
