[Via Satellite 07-29-2015] Frequency Electronics has delivered a GPS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) multi-channel receiver/down converter to be installed on a hosted payload scheduled for launch later this year. The hosted payload is part of the Federal Aviation Administration‘s (FAA) GPS WAAS program, which augments the accuracy, integrity and availability of GPS signals to enable more direct flight routing and precision landing.

Frequency Electronics is also working on an additional receiver/down converter based on a follow-on order to be delivered next year for a 2017 Ariane 5 launch. Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is building the hosted payload and awarded a 14-year contract to SES Government Solutions to fly the payload on the SES 15 satellite.
