Gilat Completes Brazilian Small Cell Project in Two Months Time – Satellite Today

[Via Satellite 10-31-2014] Gilat Satellite Networks has deployed a CellEdge small cell over satellite solution to 20 sites in the rural region of Paraná, Brazil. The installation, completed in only two months, provides 3G coverage through an agreement with TIM Brasil, the country’s second largest operator with a leading position in the pre-paid market segment.

The turnkey solution includes the VSAT, base station, tower, energy, logistics and installation. Gilat took full responsibility for providing connectivity, including site acquisition, energy, 24-m tower provision, installation, integration to the mobile core network of TIM Brasil and final ATP.
