[Via Satellite 05-28-2015] Intelsat has introduced a new customizable, managed mobility service for maritime, aero and government verticals designed to simplify the launch of new services and reduce costs. Dubbed IntelsatOne Flex, the service leverages iDirect’s Velocity ground infrastructure platform for scalability, performance and higher throughput.
The platform is optimized for Intelsat’s upcoming EpicNG High Throughput Satellite (HTS) system, including remote and hub processing capabilities for higher throughput rates and global bandwidth management for seamless connectivity across multiple spot-beams, and very fast beam switching.
IntelsatOne Flex is also fully integrated with Velocity’s companion network management system, Pulse. For maritime service providers, IntelsatOne Flex is an enterprise-grade, wholesale Mbps service with tiered Committed Information Rate (CIR) plans that allows service providers to offer tailored services.
